About QPEC

Specialists in Solvent Extraction for Over 50 Years

At Quinn Process Equipment Company, we have over 50 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing process equipment for pilot and small commercial plants in the minerals industry.

What Sets Us Apart

QPEC mixer-settlers feature specially designed impellers that mix and pump feed streams at the mixer eye, eliminating the need for interstage pumps and simplifying system control. Only external feed pumps and associated components are needed.

Available in various configurations and materials, these units maintain equal liquid levels in both mixer and settler for easy startup and shutdown without surge tanks.

We apply the same advanced technologies and processes to both mineral extraction from mining and material recovery through recycling, ensuring sustainable practices and maximum resource efficiency across both operations.

Design Philosophy

Every system is tailored to the unique needs of your project, with a range of sizes and materials to suit various applications.

Proven Track Record

Each installation started up quickly, without complications or failures, and performed reliably to the client's full satisfaction.

Full Integration

Pilot plant units include all interstage piping and recycle provisions, mounted on a common structural steel frame with explosion-proof motors and VFD controls.

Our History

Decades of Innovation

1973

Origins

James E. Quinn, formerly of Denver Equipment Co., co-developed Pump Turbine technology, eliminating the need for interstage pumps in SX systems. He founded Hazen-Quinn Process Equipment and began manufacturing mixer-settlers and other mining process equipment.

1993

QPEC Founded

Quinn Process Equipment Co. (QPEC SX) was established in Colorado after purchasing 100% of the assets of Hazen-Quinn, continuing the legacy of mixer-settler manufacturing with full independence.

1990s to 2000s

Global Reach

Expanded internationally with installations in Canada, Chile, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Added rare earth element processing capabilities.

2000s to Present

Recycling & Recovery

Applied solvent extraction expertise to material recovery and recycling applications, including hazardous waste, battery acid processing, and precious metals.

Today

50+ Years of Excellence

Over 200 installations worldwide, serving both mining and recycling industries with proven, reliable mixer-settler technology built on over five decades of expertise.
